Literary Erotica at its Finest: The Visitor

Words are HOT. That's part of the reason we writers pen this genre, and why we as readers eat it up. Erotica doesn't have to be meaningless porn. No, we are not all viscous porn writers, though some may paint us as such. It's fine by me when a sexy story has plot, character development, and an underlying theme that conveys the meaningful depth and range of emotion that is characteristic of true-to-life drama. In fact, it's more than fine by me--it's desired. Literature is sexy, and it's the well-written stuff that really gets a girl off. In this case, The Visitor hits that sweet spot. You know the one. *Insert sexy wink*

The Visitor by Lesley Douglass is a realistic take on BDSM (order on Amazon). But it's not all kink and orgasms--the story portrays a darker side. One of dangerous abuse and manipulation. Our protagonist, Jon-boy, is a passionate soul with a talent for metal sculpting and business. His accounting skills are on point and his artwork fetches a small fortune in the city's galleries, but it's his masochistic taste for a certain set of skills that gives him the high he craves. Mistress Janine is his Domme, and while her youth and beauty are a drug Jon can't seem to live without, soon, other members of the household begin to notice that Janine uses Jon's trust and adoration against him. There are rules to the BDSM lifestyle, and Mistress doesn't give a damn to follow a single one.

The Visitor is not only well-written, it was a learning experience for me. The electrical stimulation scene where Janine uses the TENS unit with the adept skill of a seasoned professional is both captivating and off-putting at the same time. Her mind games have just begin, however, and her punishments get all the more frightening. Let's just say, Jon is in for the biggest mind-fuck of his life, and the reader is right there with him.

But it's more than pain. Jon finds solace with the other ladies of the house: Brittany, the bad-ass body-builder with a sweet side, and Carmen, the exotic and intellectual college professor. These two women not only fight for Jon, they build him up so that he finds his own sense of belonging. The psychological torture and rescue is a stimulating read, and the pleasure found in the more sensual and erotic sex scenes outweighs the pain.

Beautifully illustrated by erotic artist, Ashley Kindle, this book is a visual pleasure, as well as a captivating read.

The Visitor Blurb:

With vivid graphic art by Ashley Kindle and suburb editing from The Espresso Editor, the story revolves around Jon Trask, a moderately successful sculptor living in a mid-western city. Divorced, Jon has been living alone for a decade, working every day at his art and crafting beautiful sculpture out of raw steel. But Jon has another interest--the weekly visits by his long-time lovely mistress, Janine, a younger woman to whom he is devoted and adores. But they share a secret: Jon isn’t her sugar daddy, he is her slave, and the only male member of her harem. All wearing her collar of ownership, they strive to grant Mistress Janine’s every wish, knowing that failure will result in certain and harsh punishment.

Possessed by a unique sexual attraction for both men and women, Janine is completely ruthless in pursuit of her own sadistic sexual pleasure. Told over a period of two years, you will witness Jon-boy’s relationship with his Mistress change from a satisfying part-time Domme/sub arrangement as her willing slave, into a full-time living hell of merciless psychological and physical cruelty.

The Visitor is available here for Kindle, and will soon be available in print!
